Anime North!

Anime North is coming up very quickly and I'm really panicking now. ( ;´Д`) I was originally going to cosplay Angel Panty with my friend as Angel Stocking, but without all the fabrics I need to complete her and a very limited amount of time, I decided not to rush and finish her for another time. I'm going to put whatever time I have left into fixing Madoka instead (I plan on remaking the bodice--I'd like to remake the petal skirt too but it takes a lot of time to get the bias tape on). A photographer I worked with last year offered to do a photoshoot with me so I really want to make things more presentable this time. (*´・v・) I'll be wearing Madoka on Saturday and Sunday!

I've also been thinking really ahead (Anime North 2013) and decided that I want to be really ambitious this time with my cosplays. I'm looking to cosplay Saber Bride and also Fighter (Granado Espada). There will be a lot of first times involved for both costumes so I want to start as soon as Anime North is over.

These are two different designs for female Fighter. I really like both of them a lot, but I'm kind of leaning towards the first one because I'd like to make armor. Patterning for the outfit itself isn't going to be particularly difficult, although there is a lot of trimming and applique work involved. I think the second one is really nice and elegant, and it would be nice to work with boning at least once, but I'm not really sure. (´;д;`) I think it would be more within my range (although from the bust up, I'm a little confused). I guess I'm in a bit of a bind. I like to tackle projects that are outside of my comfort zone and level skill as a way to improve (cosplay makes me a little masochistic).
